HR & Talent Administrator
At Smart, our mission is to transform retirement, savings and financial wellbeing, across all generations, around the world.
THE ROLE
Are you at the start of your career and looking for a role where you can gain broad, hands-on experience and develop your career in HR & Talent? This could be the perfect opportunity to build a strong foundation across both HR and Talent.
We’re looking for an HR & Talent Administrator to join our passionate HR team in our London office. This is a hands-on role where no two days will look the same. You’ll support everything from recruitment and onboarding through to HR operations, giving you a broad view of how a People team operates.
You’ll work closely with the HR & Talent team, getting involved in projects, audits and process improvements, while developing your knowledge and taking on more responsibility as you grow.
If you’re curious, organised, people-focused and keen to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to leavers, contract changes and everything in between.
Supporting recruitment activities including posting vacancies, reviewing applications, conducting introductory calls, coordinating interviews and keeping candidates updated.
Helping to ensure our HR systems and employee data are accurate, up to date and compliant.
Managing and following up on DBS and pre-employment checks.
Supporting probation processes, working with managers to ensure reviews happen on time and following up on outcomes.
Providing employment references and supporting other employee documentation.
Helping with HR reporting and audits, giving you insight into how data helps us make better people decisions.
Supporting the coordination of training and development, including courses, conferences and training budgets.
Getting involved in HR & Talent projects and process improvements, with plenty of opportunity to bring your own ideas to the table.
Providing general support to the wider HR team and getting involved wherever you can add value.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
People-focused – genuinely interested in people and passionate about helping us hire, develop and retain great talent.
Curious and eager to learn – excited by the opportunity to build broad HR and Talent knowledge.
Articulate and engaging – a confident communicator who enjoys working with different people.
Proactive – someone who takes ownership, gets things done and is happy to go the extra mile.
Highly organised – naturally detail-oriented and understands that great HR relies on great administration and accurate data.
A problem solver – someone who asks questions, looks for better ways of doing things and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.
Adaptable – comfortable juggling different priorities and working in a fast-moving environment.
A team player – collaborative, approachable and always willing to support others.
Trustworthy – able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Tech curious – comfortable learning new systems and interested in how technology can make HR processes better.
Previous HR, Talent or administrative experience is a bonus, but not essential. If you’re early in your career and looking for a role where you can gain genuine, hands-on experience across the full HR and Talent spectrum, this is a great place to start.
