Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist
At Smart, our mission is to transform retirement, savings and financial wellbeing, across all generations, around the world.
THE ROLE
(6 Month Fixed-term contract)
We are seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Krakow. This hands-on role is key to building high-performing teams across technology and select non-technical areas.
In this position, you will lead the sourcing, engagement and hiring of top tech talent across Poland, while also supporting recruitment for the UK and other international teams. You will work closely with hiring managers and business leaders to ensure a seamless and engaging candidate experience, while contributing to the development of Smart’s overall talent strategy.
Key responsibilities:
Own full-cycle recruitment for technical roles (e.g. software engineering, product, QA), plus selected non-tech hires.
Build and execute innovative sourcing strategies to engage top talent across Poland and the UK.
Develop deep knowledge of the Ruby market, staying ahead of trends, communities, and competitive hiring activity.
Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, build pipelines, and guide interview best practices.
Deliver exceptional candidate experiences that reflect Smart’s brand and values.
Collaborate with the wider TA and People teams to support hiring in the UK and beyond.
Track and report on recruitment metrics to help refine hiring strategies and ensure continuous improvement.
Represent Smart at tech and community events to strengthen our employer brand in Poland’s Ruby ecosystem.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
Proven experience as an in-house or agency recruiter, ideally within a tech company or high-growth environment.
Proven track record in hiring engineers and developers for backend technologies. Experience hiring Ruby engineers is considered a plus.
A solid understanding of the tech landscape in Poland and experience sourcing in local and European markets.
Confidence managing both technical and non-technical hiring simultaneously.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience using modern recruitment tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Teamtailor, etc.).
A proactive, curious mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Fluency in English.
